Instructor: Jason & Brooke MacMillan
Join us for a fun-filled walk out the Lower Loop Trail to explore and observe the sights and sounds of local nature (paying close attention to celebrity wildflowers!) Led by international primary school teacher Jason MacMillan, along with local writer Brooke MacMillan, the session will seek to illuminate the spontaneous poetry found in nature. The fun will come to a close with a yummy outdoor tea party and celebratory read of Miss Rumphius, the beloved children’s story about a woman who seeks to make the world more beautiful by planting lupine in the wild. Suitable for children ages 4 and up to be dropped off; parents welcome to join registered children. Trail-grade easy, children should be prepared for a light hike in all kinds of weather.
From Crested Butte take Butte Avenue west until it ends at Peanut Lake Rd. Proceed up Peanut Lake Rd, past Peanut Lake, to a small parking lot on the left. The Lower Loop Trail begins here, and road becomes private.
